Installation
How to install Caufix on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS.
Caufix runs on the store computer (Windows, macOS or Linux) and on phones and tablets (Android and iOS). All installers are on the downloads page. You can also use Caufix in the browser through Cloud without installing anything.
Windows
Requires 64-bit Windows 10 or 11. There are two ways to install Caufix.
Recommended: Microsoft Store
The Microsoft Store version is signed by Microsoft, so Windows shows no SmartScreen warnings. The Store keeps it up to date.
- Open the Microsoft Store app from the Start menu.
- Search for Caufix.
- Click Get (or Install).
- When it finishes, click Open or find Caufix in the Start menu.
Alternative: installer from the browser
Use this method when the Microsoft Store is not available on the computer.
- Open caufix.com/downloads, choose Windows and click Download.
- If the browser says the file is not commonly downloaded, choose Keep.
- Open the downloaded
Caufix-<version>.exefile. - If Windows protected your PC (SmartScreen) appears, click More info, then Run anyway. The publisher must be Imatronix UG.
- If Windows asks Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?, click Yes.
- Accept the Caufix terms of use when the installer or the app shows them. By installing Caufix you also accept the privacy policy.
- Caufix opens when the installation finishes and stays in the Start menu.
You must accept each of these security prompts. If you cancel one, Windows stops the installation and Caufix is not installed.
New versions install by themselves: Caufix downloads the update and asks you to restart the app.
To print to a USB ESC/POS printer, also install the WinUSB driver. Follow the Windows USB printer guide.
macOS
- Open downloads, choose macOS and download the
.dmgfile. - Open the
.dmgand drag Caufix into the Applications folder. - Open Caufix from Applications.
- If macOS says it cannot verify the developer, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the message about Caufix and click Open Anyway. Confirm with your password.
You only need step 4 the first time you open Caufix.
Linux
Caufix for Linux is an AppImage file for x64 computers.
-
Open downloads, choose Linux and download the
.AppImagefile. -
Mark the file as executable. In the file manager: right-click → Properties → Allow executing file as program. In a terminal:
chmod +x Caufix-*.AppImage -
Double-click the file to open Caufix.
If the AppImage does not open, install the libfuse2 package (on Ubuntu: sudo apt install libfuse2).
Android
- Open downloads, choose Android and tap Get it on Google Play. You can also search for Caufix in Google Play.
- Tap Install.
If your device has no Google Play, download the APK from the same section. Open it and, if Android asks, allow installing apps from that source.
iOS
Caufix for iPhone and iPad is in public beta on TestFlight.
- Install TestFlight from the App Store.
- Open downloads, choose iOS and tap Become a Tester.
- In TestFlight, tap Accept, then Install.
